Job summary

Vertvista invites a Site Engineer for a large facade green-wall project near Ahmedabad. You will oversee fabrication at vendor, supervise on-site erection to 17 m high MS steel frame, manage surveys, levels and as-built records, and ensure safety and quality across all activities.

The six-month contract may convert to full-time; immediate or up to 10 days joining. Read drawings, coordinate with client and fabricators, and maintain daily reports and test certificates for billing.

Qualifications

• Be Civil Engineer with required degree. Read fabrication and GA drawings.
• Minimum 4 years of site execution experience with steel structures.
• Proficient in reading drawings, welding, bolting and anchoring.
• Ready to join immediately or within 10 days for a 6‑month Ahmedabad assignment.

Responsibilities

• Follow up fabrication at vendor shop; inspect dims, certificates, welds, surface prep and coating.

About Vertvista

Vertvista Eco Solutions is a biophilic-design and commercial landscaping company. We build green walls, facade greening and landscape projects for corporate and industrial clients across India.

The role

We need a Site Engineer for a large facade green-wall project at an industrial site near Ahmedabad. The work is a tall MS hollow-section steel framework, about 17 m high, fixed to an existing building, followed by mesh, irrigation and planting. Fabrication is done by a vendor. You will make sure the fabrication is done right, run the erection on site, and handle the site survey and records.

Contract

This is a 6-month contract, stationed in Ahmedabad, which may convert to full-time employment. We need someone who can join immediately or within 10 days.

What you will do

1. Follow up fabrication at the vendor's shop and inspect it: dimensions and sections against the approved fabrication drawings, mill test certificates, welds (visual or DP test), surface preparation and paint thickness (DFT).
2. Track dispatches and check weighbridge weights against drawing weights.
3. Work with the survey agency on setting out, levels, anchor positions, verticality and as-built checks using total station and auto level. Keep level sheets up to date.
4. Plan and supervise erection from scaffolding: chemical anchors and pull-out tests, bolted splices and site welding under hot-work permits, within the specified tolerances.
5. Prepare daily progress reports, inspection checklists, measurement sheets and JMR, and keep delivery challans and test certificates ready for billing.
6. Coordinate daily with the client's site team, the fabricator, and the scaffolding and installation teams.
7. Make sure work-at-height, scaffolding, hot-work and site safety rules are followed every day.

What you need

1. B.E./B.Tech or Diploma in Civil Engineering. Mechanical engineers with site experience are also welcome.
2. At least 4 years of site execution, including steel structure work: sheds, PEB, pipe racks, canopies, trusses, frames or facade structures.
3. Able to read fabrication and GA drawings, with working knowledge of MS sections, welding, bolting and anchoring.
4. Hands-on with an auto level; total station experience preferred.
5. Comfortable with measurement sheets, JMR and site records; AutoCAD and MS Excel.
6. Okay with a 6-month contract, stationed in Ahmedabad for the full period, and able to join immediately or within 10 days.
