Job summary

John Holland is seeking an experienced Site Engineer for a challenging role in the Pilbara, Western Australia, with FIFO 2:1 from Perth. You will deliver complex infrastructure and rail projects, providing onsite engineering support, coordination, and technical guidance to ensure safe, efficient outcomes.

• 3–5 years' experience as Site Engineer or Project Engineer in construction/infrastructure/civil projects.
• Experience coordinating construction activities and managing project delivery requirements.
• Strong understanding of engineering standards, safety, and quality management systems.
• Experience in planning, progress reporting, forecasting and cost control.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and administer construction engineering activities to ensure works meet designs and project requirements.
• Provide technical support and engineering advice to project teams and subcontractors.
• Assist with project planning, programming and forecasting activities.
• Monitor and report construction progress, performance and risk management.
• Undertake cost control, estimating and budget monitoring.
• Verify subcontractor claims, variations and progress against contractual requirements.
• Maintain project documentation and records management systems.
• Conduct safety, environmental and quality assessments and implement controls.
• Support preparation of project methodologies, work packs and tender documentation.

About the Role

We are currently seeking an experienced Site Engineer to join our team in the Pilbara, Western Australia. Working on a FIFO 2:1 roster from Perth, you will play a key role in delivering complex infrastructure and rail projects by providing onsite engineering expertise, technical support and project coordination to ensure safe, efficient and successful project outcomes.

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated engineer looking to further develop their career while working on major projects that help shape Australia's future. Based on project needs, experience within rail construction, civil infrastructure, signalling and communications will be highly regarded.

What you will do

Coordinate and administer construction engineering activities to ensure works are delivered in accordance with approved designs, specifications and project requirements.

What we are looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Building Construction, Science or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3-5 years' experience in a Site Engineer or Project Engineer role within construction, infrastructure, rail or civil projects.
• Demonstrated experience coordinating construction activities and managing project delivery requirements.
• Strong understanding of engineering standards, specifications, safety and quality management systems.
• Experience in planning, progress reporting, forecasting and cost control.
• Ability to identify and manage project risks and implement practical solutions.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software such as Primavera P6.
• Experience within rail construction, rail signalling and communications projects will be highly regarded.
