Metric Geo, an established engineering firm based in Indianapolis, is seeking a Project Engineer to lead site development design for diverse projects such as schools, office buildings, and housing. The role emphasizes drainage, grading, and utility design with collaboration across project managers.

You will prepare construction documents, hydraulic calculations, and technical reports while advancing your engineering registration goals.

Formación

• 2–4 years experience in site development, stormwater, or water/wastewater
• Ability to independently evaluate, select and complete design solutions
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D is desired
• Ability to obtain engineering registration

Responsabilidades

• Prepare engineering Construction Documents including site layout, grading, drainage, erosion control, storm water management, utility design, and paving
• Collaborate with Project Managers and staff to drive design across various project types (schools, offices, manufacturing, parking garages, multi-family housing)
• Prepare hydraulic calculations and drainage reports
• Perform civil design: site layout, grading, drainage, erosion control, hydrologic/hydraulic analysis, utility design
• Prepare construction bid documents
• Technical report writing

What you will be doing:

• The Project Engineer will be responsible for the preparation of engineering Construction Documents including site layout, grading, drainage, erosion control, storm water management, utility design, and paving
• Work with Project Managers and other staff, to drive the design for a variety of projects including schools, office buildings, manufacturing facilities, parking garages, and multi-family housing
• Prepare hydraulic calculations and drainage reports including calculations and spreadsheets
• Civil engineering design including site layout, grading and drainage, erosion control, stormwater management, hydrologic/hydraulic analysis, and utility design
• Preparation of construction bid documents
• Technical report writing

What we are looking for:

• 2-4 years experience in site development, stormwater, or water/wastewater experience
• Previous experience with drainage, hydraulics calculation and design
• A person who is able to independently evaluate, select and complete design solutions in order to deliver a quality design product in conformance with applicable building and zoning codes
• Effective organizational skills to design and manage projects simultaneously, completing the work in accordance with client’s requirements/guidelines and schedules
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D is desired

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Landscape Architecture or related discipline
• Ability to obtain engineering registration
