Our client, Urban Engineers, is seeking a Site Development Civil Engineer to join the civil/site team in either the Philadelphia or Erie office. This hybrid-eligible role offers the opportunity to design and deliver land development projects across private, municipal, institutional, and multidisciplinary markets.

As a Site Development Civil Engineer, you will support the full lifecycle of site civil projects—from concept through permitting and construction—working on commercial sites, municipal improvements, roadway‑adjacent site work, aviation support facilities, campus developments, ports, industrial parcels, and more. You’ll collaborate with a highly skilled team, contribute to technical design, and help develop innovative, compliant solutions for diverse project needs.

Location: Based in Philadelphia, PA or Erie, PA. Hybrid is preferred; fully remote may be considered for exceptionally qualified candidates.

Responsibilities
  • Site Design Contribution: Apply civil engineering and site design principles to grading, utilities, stormwater management, erosion and sediment control, and permitting applications.
  • Plan Preparation: Prepare engineering drawings from schematic design through construction documents using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Documentation: Prepare technical reports, hydrology/hydraulics calculations, and permit application packages to support project goals.
  • Stormwater Modeling: Perform SWM design using HydroCAD, Hydraflow, StormCAD, PondPack, or comparable tools.
  • Team Collaboration: Coordinate with multidisciplinary internal teams, clients, and municipal agencies to ensure project deliverables meet requirements and expectations.
  • Construction Support: Assist with RFIs, submittal reviews, and occasional site visits during construction.
  • Project Coordination: Conduct zoning/code research and support feasibility assessments, conceptual layouts, and design development.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
  • 5–15 years of progressive experience in site civil / land development engineering
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Experience in grading, utilities, stormwater, erosion control, and permitting
  • Hydrology and hydraulics modeling experience (HydroCAD, Hydraflow, etc.)
  • PE license preferred; ability to pursue licensure required
  • Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills
Preferred Skills
  • Advanced stormwater modeling and drainage design experience
  • Comprehensive understanding of civil engineering practices for complex public and private projects
  • Strong presentation and client communication skills
