Our client, Urban Engineers, is seeking a Site Development – Civil Designer to join the civil/site team in either the Philadelphia or Erie office. This hybrid-eligible role offers the opportunity to contribute to impactful land development projects across private, municipal, institutional, and multidisciplinary markets while growing your technical skillset in a collaborative, supportive environment.
As a Civil Designer, you will support site development projects from early layout through permitting and construction, collaborating closely with engineers, project managers, and external partners to deliver high‑quality, compliant designs.
Location: Based in Philadelphia, PA or Erie, PA. Hybrid work is preferred; remote eligibility may be considered.
Responsibilities
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
- 2–5 years of civil engineering experience with a focus on site / land development design
- Proficiency with engineering CADD software, particularly AutoCAD; Civil 3D experience preferred
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment
- Strong organizational, communication, and time‑management skills
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
- 5–15 years of progressive experience in site civil / land development engineering
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Experience in grading, utilities, stormwater, erosion control, and permitting
- Hydrology and hydraulics modeling experience (HydroCAD, Hydraflow, etc.)
- PE license preferred; ability to pursue licensure required
- Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills
Preferred Skills
- FE / EIT certification (preferred)
- Experience supporting land development projects
- Familiarity with infrastructure design
- Knowledge of stormwater management design and related regulations
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and prioritize effectively
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
