Qualifications

  • Six months to one year of experience in group leadership with older adults or related food service work.
  • Must build relationships with community organizations to enhance senior services.
  • Creativity and public relations knowledge to create a positive agency image.
  • Outgoing, well organized, and flexible.
  • Experience with basic computer applications is preferred; training is available.
  • Willingness to grow with the changing community.
  • Valid Driver's License is required.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily meal service operations, ensuring timely and accurate delivery to homebound seniors or vulnerable adults.
  • Manage volunteer scheduling, training, and retention for efficient meal distribution.
  • Maintain accurate client and volunteer records, meal counts, and program documentation.
  • Conduct client outreach and connect clients with additional resources.
  • Collaborate with community partners, healthcare providers, and local agencies to expand services.
  • Monitor food safety standards and ensure sanitation compliance.
  • Resolve client and volunteer concerns promptly to maintain high satisfaction.

Job Summary:

This position will serve community dining from bulk to seniors, deliver home-delivered meals, and package home-delivered meals for delivery. The incumbent will represent Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota (LSS) as the provider of this service by serving as the first point of contact for customer relations, following up on concerns, and creating a climate of support for the service in the community. This position will also engage with diners and volunteers to promote a welcoming and inviting atmosphere by assisting in planning and hosting meal events. Driving is required. Mileage reimbursement is available for work related travel!

  • Conducts client outreach, helps identify unmet needs and connects clients with additional community resources.
  • Collaborates with community partners, healthcare providers, and local agencies to expand services and improve program effectiveness.
  • Monitors food safety standards and ensures compliance with sanitation and health regulations.
  • Resolves client and volunteer concerns promptly, fostering strong relationships and high satisfaction levels.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Experience preferred.
  • Must be able to read and follow verbal instructions.
  • Six months to one year of full-time equivalent experience in group leadership activities and working with older adults in a host/hostess role or comparable food service experience.
  • Must be willing to build strong relationships with community organizations to enhance support services for seniors.
  • Must possess creativity and knowledge of public relations to create a positive image of the agency.
  • Must be outgoing and well organized.
  • Experience in basic computer applications is preferred, but training is available.
  • Must be willing to grow with the ever-changing community.
  • Valid Driver's License is required.
