Job summary

Playful Minds Learning Center LLC is seeking a Site Coordinator to lead classroom operations and collaborate with the Program Director to ensure high-quality care for school-age children. You will train staff, plan effectively, and manage daily center operations, maintaining compliance with regulations.

You will mentor teaching staff, coordinate with families, and oversee safety, documentation, and program quality.

Qualifications

  • Option 1: Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field and 6 months of school-age experience.
  • Option 2: Bachelor’s Degree in any field or Associate + 9 months experience working with school-age children.
  • Option 3: HS diploma and 12 months experience with school-age children.

Job description

Position Summary

The Site Coordinator is responsible for providing the best possible environment for the children assigned to their classroom. The Site Coordinator will work collaboratively with the Program Director to teach, effectively plan for the program, and manage the daily operations of the Center. In cooperation with the Program Director, the Site Coordinator will provide training and leadership to the staff. Continue to work on maintaining and improving the program as well as be current regarding standard updates and changes. The School Age Group Leader is responsible for ensuring compliance with all regulations, Playful Minds policies and procedures, and for striving for continual improvement. Reports To School Aged / Summer Program Director. Supervisory Responsibility Teaching Staff and volunteers. Schedule Full Time.

Education & Experience
  • Option 1: Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development, Early childhood Education, Elementary Education, Child Guidance, Human Services, Nursing, Psychology, Physical Education, Recreation, Child Psychology, the Arts, Social Work, Sociology, or Child Care, and 6 months of experience working with school-age children;
  • Option 2: Bachelor’s Degree in any field or an Associate’s Degree in any field of study and 9 months of experience working with schoolage children
  • Option 3: High School diploma or GED, and 12 months of experience working with school-age children.

Curriculum
  • Choose highquality, developmentally appropriate, engaging lesson plans which are aligned with best practices, PMLC curriculum guidelines, state and federal licensing regulations, and tailored to the needs, skills and interests of the children in the group
  • Oversee implementation of curriculum to ensure implementation of best practices and PMLC curriculum
  • Observe classroom environments to ensure they are developmentally appropriate, responsive to the needs and interests of the children in the individual classes and aligned with regulations and best practices
  • Collaborate with the School Aged & Summer Program Director, teaching staff and families to ensure appropriate accommodations and support for children’s needs
  • Support observations of children’s developmental progress and suggest supports when needed
Families & Community Engagement
  • Plan and implement monthly marketing events in collaboration with the School Aged / Summer Program Director
  • Provide site tours for prospective families
  • Prepare monthly newsletters for families and provide them to the School Aged & Summer Program Director 1 week before they need to be sent.
  • Promote a nurturing and inclusive community environment
  • Meet with families as needed or assigned
  • Create monthly newsletters for families and submit them to the Program Director
  • Update classroom bulletin board at least monthly, according to schedule
  • Notify the School Aged & Summer Program Director of any parent complaints
Compliance
  • Assemble all compliance related applications, records and reports as required by licensing and Playful Minds
  • Ensure that attendance records are completed consistently and accurately
  • Keep Master Enrollment Sheets up to date
  • Collaborate with the School Aged & Summer Program Director and with the Regional Director to prepare site for state licensing visits and inspections
  • Observe daily operations to ensure PMLC policies, procedures and health and safety protocols are consistently upheld
  • Observe facilities and classrooms to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, accreditation requirements, licensing standards and PMLC standards
  • Schedule, implement and document emergency drills according to schedule
  • Review Safety Plan, Building Emergency Plan and Missing Child Plan upon hire and annually thereafter

Physical Demands
  • Must be able to lift children (up to 75 lbs.), speak to children at eye level, sit on the floor and run
