Job summary

Vistra Corp. is seeking a Construction Manager to oversee field construction across the Vistra fleet, including solar, energy storage, fossil and other technologies.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of power generation, construction or equivalent energy industry experience, with project management.
• Construction Management in large power plant projects (fossil and/or renewables).
• Knowledge in Quality Standards (ANSI, ACI, NEC, etc.).
• Ability to manage large contract scope.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience gained through college degree programs and/or certifications is applicable to above skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of construction project at the project site including budgets and schedules. Ensure all safety protocols and procedures are followed and maintained.
• Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and work timetables for any scope of work not included in the EPC contract
• Interpret and understand the main EPC contract and technical information to work with main contractor through commercial operation
• Report work progress and budget matters to management via standard processes and procedures
• Collaborate with engineers, contractors and the operations team at site (if applicable)
• Work with main EPC contractor to understand schedule and justify percent complete
• Understand and approve monthly invoices from the EPC contractor for payment. Communicate with executive management using weekly and monthly reports
• Respond to work delays, emergencies, and other problems and coordinate with Owner’s Engineers to answer any RFI’s from the contractor
• Comply with legal requirements, building and safety codes, and other regulations
• Work with operations staff for plant turnover
