Job summary

Responsibilities

• Serve on multiple project teams and support the development of civil/site designs and drawings.
• Manage civil/site design and land development processes with clients and permitting authorities.
• Oversee project budgets, scopes and proposals; conduct studies and prepare reports.
• Support engineering practice leader in budgets, deliverables, QA/QC and price proposals.
• Communicate with external and internal clients; coordinate team activities.
• Contribute to marketing, business development and expansion of the practice.
• Mentor staff; ensure effective supervision, accuracy and detail.

Duties, Responsibilities & Other

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to join our team in Woodcliff Lake, NJ.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background with client and project management and have experience managing private and public and private civil/site development projects.

The key responsibilities of this role include:

• Serve on multiple project teams and support the development of the civil/site designs and drawings
• Experience and familiarity with civil/site design and the land development process. This role will involve the management of civil and land development projects, the internal project team, the clients, and the permitting and approval processes.
• Responsible for project management, client interaction, and technical and fee proposal preparation within the designated engineering practice. Responsible for the management of projects, development of scopes and budgets, conducting engineering studies and preparing technical reports for a wide variety of high profile projects. Responsible for assisting the engineering practice leader in project budgets and technical deliverables, QA/QC reviews for project or task deliverables, technical and price proposals, communication and interaction with external and internal clients. Other duties will include marketing, business development and expansion of the engineering practice.
• Good communication, supervisory and mentoring skills, reliable, attention to details and accuracy are necessary.
• Successful candidate will have demonstrated business development and project management experience within the past 4-6 years.
• The candidate must have the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and the ability to work with a diverse team.
• 10+ years of experience is preferred

Qualifications

Education and/or Skills Required:

• Proficiency in project management software and tools, with the ability to develop and maintain comprehensive project plans and documentation.
• Knowledge of industry standards and best practices related to project management, quality assurance, and safety protocols.
• Effective problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues and implement solutions in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong negotiation skills to manage contracts, scope changes, and stakeholder agreements effectively.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles to effectively manage project budgets, financial reporting, and resource allocation.

Education and/or Work Experience Preferred:

• Master’s Degree in related field (AEC Industry)

Certificates, Licenses, and/or Registrations Required:

• Ability to complete the KCI PM Training and Contract Risk Training along with passing the PM Board within 6 months of start date.
