Job summary

Hazen and Sawyer is seeking a Site Civil Engineer to support water and wastewater infrastructure projects with a strong focus on site design for our Arizona offices located in Tempe, Tucson, and Goodyear. The role involves hands-on layout planning, piping systems, grading, paving, roadways, and stormwater infrastructure, and also managing project development from conceptual design to construction support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or related Engineering field.
• 5–8 years of relevant civil/site development experience as stated in the ad.
• PE License required.
• Strong communication and collaborative skills.
• Proficiency in creating construction drawings: site layout, drainage, grading.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop site layouts for water/wastewater projects (yard piping, roadways, grading, stormwater, paving).
• Perform conceptual and preliminary design with field visits and data collection.
• Conduct hydraulic calculations and assist with hydraulic modeling.
• Navigate permitting processes and evaluate design options.
• Coordinate with sub-consultants and ensure design integration.
• Prepare technical memos, reports, and electronic deliverables.
• Provide construction-phase support by reviewing submittals and RFIs.
• Conduct site reconnaissance and field investigations.
