Job summary

Hatch is seeking a Mechanical/Piping Engineering Intern for our Pittsburgh, PA office. You will report to the Project Delivery Group and support global offices from our local site.

Candidates must be pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering with at least a 3.0 GPA, and have the ability to assist in calculations, specifications, data sheets, and 2D drawings while collaborating on multi-disciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Assist in hydraulic modeling, stress analysis, equipment sizing, and tank calculations.

• Update engineering lists and support drawing production.

Hatch is seeking a Mechanical/Piping Engineering Intern. Reporting to the Project Delivery Group, you will support offices globally working from our Pittsburgh, PA office location.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering
• Minimum of a cumulative 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale

As The Successful Candidate, You Will:

• Assist in preparing engineering calculations such as hydraulic modeling, stress analysis, equipment sizing and tank and ensuring that all analyses satisfy user and system requirements
• Prepare technical specifications based on input received
• Prepare data sheets based on input received
• Prepare and/or review project standard specifications and design criteria
• Prepare or provide input to 2D mechanical drawings
• Prepare and update engineering lists

• Perform assignments related to your sector
• Assist with preparation of detailed design for projects
• Support preparation of drawings from detailed notes and specifications
• Coordination with other technicians/engineers on projects
• Provide support to Senior Engineers and Designers as and when needed
