Job summary

Hussey Gay Bell seeks a Civil Site Engineer to plan, design, and permit land development projects for public and private clients. You will work with the Principal Engineer to establish the land development division, support business development, and manage client relationships.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering from ABET-accredited institution; requires EIT/PE license or ability to obtain immediately.
• 2+ years of civil site design experience on land development projects (residential, commercial, industrial).
• Knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D software; familiarity with water and stormwater modeling.

Responsibilities

• Apply engineering principles to create land plans and conceptual layouts.
• Design land development projects including site layout, grading, utilities and erosion control.
• Prepare calculations and technical reports/models; coordinate with Owner/Client and other disciplines.
• Identify and obtain regulatory permits for local, state, and federal requirements; produce project plans and specs.
• Manage project schedule to meet milestones; attend public and client meetings; liaison to resolve construction issues.

Job description

As Civil Site Engineer you will plan, design, and permit land development projects for both public and private clients. You will work alongside the Principal Engineer to help establish the land development division, as well as engage in business development and client relationship management efforts for the division as directed by leadership.

Core Position Responsibilities:

• Apply engineering principles to create land plans and conceptual layouts
• Design land development projects to include site layout, grading, utilities and erosion control
• Prepare all necessary calculations
• Prepare technical reports and models
• Coordinate projects with Owner/Client and other disciplines as necessary to produce the project
• Identify and apply for all regulatory permits for local, state, and federal regulations and construction requirements
• Produce project plans and specifications
• Manage and communicate project schedule to achieve project milestones and deliverables
• Attend public and client meetings
• Serve as primary point of contact and project liaison to assist with the resolution of construction issues and conduct site observations
• Provide guidance and mentorship to team members and other appropriate employees
• BS in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution
• EIT/PE license or ability to obtain immediately
• 2 or more years of experience in civil site design of land development projects such as residential subdivisions, multi-family developments, commercial/retail, industrial, institutional and municipal
• Knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D software
• Knowledge of water and stormwater modeling
