Job summary

HDR in Charlotte, NC seeks a Site Civil EIT/Designer to support our Building Engineering Services Group. The role supports site studies, layout, drainage and utility design under supervision, with opportunities for career progression.

The position requires a Civil/Structural Engineering degree and an EIT (or intent to obtain). Proficiency with MicroStation or AutoCAD and Civil 3D is preferred, with Bentley ConceptStation/OpenFlows knowledge a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate or ability to obtain within 12 months.
• Familiarity with MicroStation and/or AutoCAD; familiarity with Civil 3D, Bentley ConceptStation and/or OpenFlows.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Senior Engineer with site studies, site designs, contract documentation preparation and graphic presentation.
• Perform overall site layout, grading, utility layout and drainage.
• Perform routine engineering assignments requiring application of standard techniques and procedures.
• Complete projects with clear, specified objectives and limited variables.
• Perform administrative duties associated with project management for civil/site projects.
• Work independently on small projects, or assist more-senior engineers on larger projects.
• Perform other duties as needed.
