Job summary

VHB is seeking a Site Civil Designer in New Jersey (Newark, Manasquan, or Princeton) to join its growing Land Development team. The role offers exposure to mixed-use, biotech, residential, and hospitality projects with a collaborative, inclusive culture and hybrid work options.

You will work on design layouts, assist senior engineers, prepare specs, perform field data collection, and contribute to project management and reports across NJ sites.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering or related discipline required.
• At least 3+ years of experience on land development projects.
• EI T preferred; local NJ codes and development regs knowledge expected.
• Experience with site layout, grading, utilities and stormwater design.
• Proficient with site plans, construction documents and reports.

Responsibilities

• Develop project management skills through on-the-job training in proposals and budgets.
• Lay out full plan designs, details, quantities, and cost estimates.
• Assist senior engineers with guides, specifications, and procedures.
• Prepare technical specifications for review and approval.
• Review design drawings and prepare technical reports.
• Perform field tests, take measurements and collect data as needed.
