Job summary

VHB seeks a Site Civil Designer to support Newark, Manasquan or Princeton, NJ. You will work within the Land Development team on diverse projects, performing site layout, grading, utility design and stormwater management with supervision.

The role offers a hybrid work environment, a competitive base salary, and a comprehensive benefits package in New Jersey. Ideal candidates possess a BS in Civil Engineering, at least 3 years of land development experience, and familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D,

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• 3+ years of experience working on land development projects.
• EIT preferred.
• Experience site layout, grading, utility design and stormwater management.
• Experience with site plans, construction documents, specification, and engineering reports.
• Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microsoft Project, MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Develop project management skills through on-the-job training of project management techniques and management systems through assisting with the project proposal process and determining project requirements (e.g., schedule and budget).
• For a detailed segment of a project, lays out full plan designs, plan details and outlines, identifies, quantities of materials, cost estimates, and performs calculations.
• Assists senior engineers with a variety of assignments (e.g., development of design guides, guide specifications, design control procedures).
• Prepares technical specifications for review and approval.
• Reviews and may approve design drawings for assigned segment of project.
• Prepare technical reports.
• Perform field tests, takes measurements, and collects field data, as necessary.
