Job summary

May Mobility is seeking a Site Autonomy Engineer to support live autonomous vehicle fleets in Ann Arbor, MI. You will work closely with electromechanical and software elements to ensure successful launches and safe operation of autonomous vehicles in real-world conditions.

You will perform on-site calibrations, testing, and maintenance while coordinating with the engineering team to resolve issues and improve fleet performance.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting autonomous vehicle fleets on-site.
• Strong trouble-shooting of electromechanical issues in the field.
• Ability to work with vehicle sensor suites and mapping assets.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and implements vehicle upfits to support fleet upgrades and initiatives.
• Debugs electrical and mechanical issues on the vehicles.
• Executes on-site sensor calibrations.
• Executes on-site testing of feature improvements.
• Build and maintain local May Mobility mapping assets.
• Performs preventative maintenance on May vehicles.
• Records issues found and resolutions, escalating in proper channels as necessary.
• Assists in testing the autonomous operation of the vehicle to ensure safety and rider comfort.
• Implements hardware changes in the field, ensuring safe operation for return to service.
• Communicates issues and successes to the engineering team, and drives resolution.
• Perform data acquisition by utilizing vehicle sensor suite.
