Site Assessment Project Manager (Geologist)

Job Overview

This role involves managing environmental site assessment projects, overseeing contractors, and coordinating with various divisions to ensure compliance and safety. The position requires extensive experience in environmental investigations and remediation, with responsibilities including budget management, contract oversight, and technical guidance.

Responsibilities
  1. Review and coordinate work by environmental site assessment contractors across various projects such as Phase I Environmental Site Assessment, Soils Disposition Evaluation, and others.
  2. Assist in contract development and oversight of remediation contractors.
  3. Manage project budgets, schedules, and ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
  4. Provide technical advice to OEHS management regarding contractor oversight and project progress.
  5. Coordinate environmental review processes with Facilities Services Division for projects related to budgeting, school design, emergency response, and demolition.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Seven (7) years of full-time paid experience in managing environmental investigations and remediation, preferably under DTSC or similar agencies.
  • Knowledge of site investigation, remedial strategies, and relevant environmental regulations.
Educational Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution, preferably in Geology, Engineering, or related field.
Preferred Qualifications
  • California Professional Registration (Certified Hydrogeologist, PE, or PG) preferred.
Additional Details

Salary Range: $122,944.48 - $163,925.98.
