PLA is seeking a Sit Down Forklift Operator in Ottawa, KS. You will operate a sit-down forklift to move pallets, load/unload trailers, and keep accurate counts and documentation for all trailer loads.

The role emphasizes safety, efficiency, and adherence to PLA policies while maintaining a clean, organized warehouse. You will participate in daily inspections, propelling a 5-shift progression with wage increases, and enjoy benefits including health coverage, 401(k), and weekly pay.

Qualifications

• 6 months forklift experience preferred.
• Proficient in operating a sit-down forklift.
• Must pass forklift certification test (on-site certification available).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office for documentation.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain a sit-down forklift to support warehouse operations.
• Load and unload pallets from trailers with precision and care.
• Move pallets to correct locations to maintain organization and accessibility.
• Complete daily forklift inspections and ensure safe operating condition.
• Refuel or recharge forklifts per safety procedures.
• Verify loads and documentation for accuracy and act as final inspector.
• Maintain accurate counts and ensure proper material handling documentation.
• Keep work area clean and orderly and follow safety guidelines.
• Support other warehouse areas as needed and adapt to schedule changes.
