Job summary

GlobalFoundries is seeking an energetic early career engineer for an Electrical Characterization Engineer role in its Malta, NY 300mm fab. You will own wafer electrical test disposition for high-volume manufacturing and support inline process control while collaborating with NPI to ramp Silicon Photonics.

The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in electrical engineering and statistics and a passion for learning and problem solving in a multicultural fab environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Circuit Design, Electrical Engineering or related technical field.
  • Excellent data analysis and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a multicultural team environment.
  • Working knowledge in the design, execution, and analysis of experiments.
  • Affinity for quick learning.
  • Masters in Electrical Engineering or related field.

  • Project management skills, i.e., the ability to innovate and execute on solutions that matter; the ability to navigate ambiguity.
  • Understanding and knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and/or Design of Experiments (DOE).

Responsibilities

  • Electrical characterization of semiconductor devices and health-of-line electrical test structures (HOL) to sustain volume production, disposition of production materials, and electrical test.
  • Support general and urgent fab operation issues; review ET, OT, HOL and inline SPC; analyze sources of variation; improve line control; and transistor variability.
  • Work with and communicate with customers on electrical and optical targeting, trends and Cpk / variability.
  • Electrical analysis of controlled process changes for device, defectivity and yield improvements.
  • Support Engineering teams on manufacturing ramp, cost reduction and risk analysis.
  • Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support EH&S requirements.

Summary of Role

GlobalFoundries is seeking an energetic and highly motivated early career engineer for a position as an Electrical Characterization Engineer in our state-of-the-arty 300mm wafer fab in Malta, NY. The candidate will own wafer electrical test disposition of high-volume manufacturing silicon as well as inline electrical and optical process control. He will work closely with our New Product Introduction Engineering team ramping up our Silicon Photonics platform. The ideal candidate should have an excellent foundation in electrical engineering and statistics as well as a passion to learn and problem solve.

$69,000.00 - $120,000.00

The exact Salary will be determined based on qualifications, experience and location.
