Job summary

Town of Agawam is seeking a Paramedic (Single-Role, Non-Suppression) to join the Agawam Fire Department. The role focuses on ALS care and transport with no fire suppression duties, while offering a stable schedule, competitive hourly pay, and benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current Massachusetts OEMS Paramedic certification in good standing.
• NREMT Paramedic certification must be maintained; Massachusetts renewal required.
• Current CPR/BLS and ACLS with hands-on evaluation.
• Valid Massachusetts driver’s license with good driving record.
• NIMS IC-100, IC-200, and IS-700 or completion within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide ALS emergency medical care and transport as a Paramedic (Single-Role).
• Staff Department ambulances and deliver pre-hospital care under protocols.
• Lead clinical care on ALS calls and direct EMTs on scene.
• Complete accurate ePCR documentation for MA OEMS and billing.
• Maintain controlled-substance custody and ensure security per regulations.
• Participate in QA/QI reviews and provide public education when needed.
