Job summary

GeBBS Healthcare Solutions seeks an experienced Single Pathway Same Day Surgery Coder with Orthopedic Surgery expertise. This remote, full-time role codes both professional and facility services from a single record, ensuring accurate diagnosis, procedures, modifiers, and compliant charge capture for outpatient procedures.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in same day surgery coding, strong orthopedic experience, and proficiency with Epic and 3M Encoder.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of recent Same Day Surgery coding experience.
• Extensive experience coding Orthopedic Surgery procedures.
• Experience coding both professional and facility services in a single-pathway workflow.
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT/HCPCS, Modifier assignment, NCCI edits, OPPS/APC.

Responsibilities

• Review outpatient same day surgery medical records and supporting documentation.
• Assign accurate ICD-10-CM diagnosis codes, CPT/HCPCS procedure codes, modifiers, and facility elements.
• Code orthopedic procedures including arthroscopy, spine, hand, foot and ankle, fractures.
• Ensure modifier accuracy and compliance with NCCI edits and payer guidelines.
• Reconcile charges to support complete charge capture.
• Identify documentation opportunities and request clarifications.
• Maintain productivity and quality standards.
• Stay current with coding updates and regulatory changes.

Remote | Full-Time Preferred (Part-Time Considered – Minimum 20 Hours/Week)

GeBBS Healthcare Solutions is seeking an experienced Single Pathway Same Day Surgery Coder with expertise in Orthopedic Surgery coding. This position is responsible for accurately assigning both professional and facility codes from a single medical record review , ensuring complete, compliant coding and charge capture for outpatient same day surgical procedures.

Position Responsibilities

• Review outpatient same day surgery medical records and supporting documentation.
• Assign accurate ICD-10-CM diagnosis codes, CPT/HCPCS procedure codes, modifiers, and applicable facility coding elements for both professional and facility billing.
• Code a wide variety of orthopedic surgical procedures, including arthroscopy, joint procedures, spine, hand, foot and ankle, fracture repairs, and other musculoskeletal surgeries.
• Ensure accurate modifier assignment and compliance with National Correct Coding Initiative (NCCI) edits and payer guidelines.
• Review and reconcile charges to support complete and compliant charge capture.
• Identify documentation opportunities and communicate coding clarification needs when appropriate.
• Maintain established productivity and quality standards.
• Stay current with coding updates, payer policies, and regulatory changes impacting outpatient surgery services.
