Job summary

Horton, Inc. is seeking a Packer (Single Pack) to join the Westminster, SC location on 1st shift (Mon-Thu 7:30am-5:30pm). Pay starts at $19.50 per hour and may depend on experience.

The role involves packing products per work instructions and coordinating with teammates and supervisors to ensure timely, accurate production. The successful candidate will perform daily tasks, follow routings, maintain quality, and participate in safety and 6S practices.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma, or equivalent (GED), is required.
• Previous relevant work experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Read and follow instructions on routings and work instructions for each job.
• Check stock bins for adequate supplies of sub-assembly, parts and any other items needed; contact material handler or supervisor if shortages exist.
• Complete departmental paperwork such as routings, assembly tickets, production status sheets and daily checklists; communicate questions to Lead/Supervisor.
• Operate machinery safely for pre-assembly components; tools may include hand tools and rivet machines.
• Perform quality checks using gauges, micrometers and/or calipers; inspect part quality.
• Obtain first piece and last piece buyoff from Quality department.
• Relay all information about current job to oncoming shift; maintain production rate.
• Communicate with Lead/Supervisor throughout shift.
• Set up riveter machines within assigned area.
• Verify quality specifications by measuring completed components/products.
• Ensure data accuracy before transacting in inventory system; escalate discrepancies.
• Fill in as Operator in other departments as directed/rotated.
• Train new operators as needed.
• Maintain 6S and clean, safe work areas.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Horton, Inc. has an opening for a Packer (Single Pack) to work in our Westminster, SC location. This is a 1st shift position and standard work hours are Monday-Thursday 7:30am - 5:30pm. Occasional overtime may be required. Pay starts at $19.50 per hour and depends on experience.

Position Information: This position reports directly to the shift supervisor and must work in coordination with co-workers to be effective. This position is responsible for packing product according to work instructions.

Responsibilities

Single Packer Responsibilities:

1. Will be expected to be able to perform daily tasks.

• Read and follow instructions on routings and work instructions for each job.
• Checks stock bins for adequate supplies of sub-assembly, parts and any other items needed. Contacts material handler or Production Lead/Supervisor if shortages exist.
• Complete all departmental paperwork, such as routings, assembly tickets, production status sheets and daily checklists. Communicate questions and problems to Lead/Supervisor.
• Responsible for the safe operation of machinery used for pre-assembly components. Machinery may vary from hand tools to rivet machines as determined by area.
• Perform frequent quality checks as directed by management or a Quality Representative. May be required to use quality inspection tools such as gauges, micrometers and/or calipers. Continuously inspect part quality.
• Obtain first piece and last piece buyoff from the Quality department.
• Relay all information about current job to oncoming shift.
• Maintain production rate on each job.
• Communication throughout shift to Lead/Supervisor.

2. Will be responsible for assembling product as instructed on work instruction/routings/blueprints.

3. Will be responsible to set-up of the riveter machines within their assigned area.

4. Verifies quality specifications by measuring completed component/product.

5. Ensure data accuracy before transacting in inventory system. Elevate issues or suspected discrepancies to management.

6. Will be required to fill in as Operator in other departments as directed/rotated.

7. Train new operators, as needed.

8. Practice 6S and always maintain clean and safe work areas.

9. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Single Packer Qualifications:

• A high school diploma, or equivalent (GED), is required.
• Previous relevant work experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
• To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily.
• Ability to work well in a group and individually.
• Some degree of mechanical aptitude may be required.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States. This job is not eligible for sponsorship.
