Job summary

Mercor is seeking a Bioinformatics & Computational Single-Cell Genomics Expert to design challenging computational problems for evaluating AI capabilities in scientific research. You will create tasks requiring proficiency with Scanpy, scVelo, Squidpy, and Gudhi, and test these problems against state-of-the-art AI models to determine target difficulty.

The role is remote, part-time, requiring 15–20 hours per week, with strong emphasis on independent work and reproducible computational workflows

Qualifications

• Graduate-level training in a relevant STEM field ( MS, PhD, or equivalent research experience ).
• Proven proficiency with at least one of the listed scientific software libraries.
• Strong Python skills.
• Ability to work independently and refine problem designs.
• Comfortable working in a Linux/terminal environment.
