Job summary

CAE's newest training center in Minneapolis, MN is seeking a Simulator Technician to maintain and service simulators and related systems. You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose issues, run QTGs, and assist with refurbishment while supporting customer needs.

Ideal candidates have a 2-year technical degree, 1 year of simulator experience, and basic soldering and test equipment skills; travel up to 10% is required. CAE offers benefits and opportunities within a multinational team.

Qualifications

  • Requires a 2-year technical degree or equivalent training.
  • At least 1 year of simulator-related experience in electronics/avionics, automated systems, or computer networking repair and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to read and interpret prints and schematics.
  • Knowledge of analog and digital theory.
  • Basic skills with test equipment.
  • Basic soldering and circuit board repair skills.
  • Some knowledge of PCs and MS Office.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

  • Learn and perform preventive maintenance on simulators and related systems.
  • Assist in diagnosing and correcting routine problems on simulators and related systems.
  • Perform pre-flight and post-flight tasks on designated simulators.
  • Perform basic visual alignments.
  • Run automatic Qualification Test Guide (QTG).
  • Utilize the maintenance management system to record and track maintenance activities.
  • Complete all designated training activities.
  • Assist with refurbishment and hardware modifications.
  • Learn and comply with CAE’s quality management system.
  • Provide customer service support and address customer needs in a timely manner.
  • Perform logistics duties, including parts receipt, repair, and testing/validation.
  • Perform housekeeping functions to maintain simulators as required.
  • Perform required administrative tasks.

Description
  • Learn and perform preventive maintenance tasks on simulators and associated simulator systems.

Minimum Qualifications
  • 2‑year technical degree or equivalent related training.
  • 1 year of simulator‑related experience in one of the following:
    • Electronics/avionics
    • Automated systems
    • Computer networking repair and troubleshooting
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting prints and schematics.
  • Knowledge of analog and digital theory.
  • Basic skills in operating test equipment.
  • Basic skills in soldering and circuit board repair.
  • Some knowledge of PCs and MS Office tools and suite.
  • Able to travel (less than 10%).
