Job summary

CAE is seeking a Simulator Technician for our Orlando, FL training center. The role focuses on preventive maintenance, diagnosing routine simulator issues, and performing preflight and postflight tasks. You will work under CAE’s quality system and support logistics and refurbishment efforts.

The ideal candidate has a 2-year technical degree with hands-on electronics experience, basic soldering skills, and proficiency with PC tools. Some travel (<10%) is required.

Qualifications

  • 2-year technical degree or equivalent training is required.
  • At least 1 year of simulator-related experience in electronics/avionics, automated systems, or computer networking repair.
  • Ability to read and interpret prints and schematics.
  • Knowledge of analog and digital theory and basic test equipment skills.
  • Basic soldering and circuit board repair abilities.
  • Some PC skills and MS Office familiarity.
  • Able to travel less than 10%.

Responsibilities

  • Learn and perform preventive maintenance on simulators and related systems.
  • Assist in diagnosing routine problems on simulators.
  • Perform preflight and postflight tasks on designated simulators.
  • Execute basic visual alignment and QTG procedures.
  • Record maintenance activities in the CMMS.
  • Participate in refurbishment and hardware modifications.
  • Adhere to CAE's quality management system and provide customer support.
  • Handle logistics including parts receipt, repair, and testing.

Job description

CAE, one of the largest business aviation training facilities, is looking for a Simulator Technician in our newest training center in Orlando (Parksouth), FL.

Description
  • Learn and perform preventive maintenance tasks on simulators and associated simulator systems.
  • Assist in diagnosing and correcting routine problems on simulators and associated systems.
  • Perform preflight and postflight tasks on designated simulators.
  • Perform basic visual alignments.
  • Run automatic Qualification Test Guide (QTG).
  • Utilize the maintenance management system to record and track maintenance activities.
  • Complete all designated training activities.
  • Assist with refurbishment and hardware modifications.
  • Learn and comply with CAE's quality management system.
  • Provide customer service support and address customer needs in a timely manner.
  • Perform logistics duties, including parts receipt, repair, and testing/validation.
  • Perform housekeeping functions to maintain simulators as required.
  • Perform required administrative tasks.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 2year technical degree or equivalent related training.
  • 1 year of simulatorrelated experience in one of the following:
    • Electronics/avionics
    • Automated systems
    • Computer networking repair and troubleshooting
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting prints and schematics.
  • Knowledge of analog and digital theory.
  • Basic skills in operating test equipment.
  • Basic skills in soldering and circuit board repair.
  • Some knowledge of PCs and MS Office tools and suite.
  • Able to travel (less than 10%).
