HealthPartners is hiring for a full-time Simulation Technician.
POSITION SUMMARY STATEMENT:
The Simulation Technician position is a foundational role within the Clinical Simulation Program, primarily responsible for supporting the day-to‑time operations of simulation technology and equipment. This position plays a keypartin ensuring the smooth functioning of the simulation program byassistingwith equipment and supply management, maintenance, and facilitation of simulation activities. The role is ideal for individuals witha medicalknowledge and technical interest who are keen to contribute to the field of healthcare education through simulation. This position is designed to function under the direction of operational staff and as knowledge and skills are obtained, the role creates the opportunity to progress and advance towards the Simulation Technology Specialist role.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education, Experience or Equivalent Combination:
- Associate/technical degree or diploma as LPN, RN, EMT, Medical Assistant, biology, medical technology, or related field.
- Two years’ experience in the medical field. Familiarity with technology and audio/visual systems.
- Licensure/ Registration/ Certification:
- Must have a current and valid Driver’s License.
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Basic knowledge of education and training.
- Proficiencyin computer use and software applications including Microsoft Office andInternet.
- Basic knowledge of/experience using AV equipment and software for recording, duplicating, and playback.
- Ability to be flexible/adaptable and to meet rapidly changing needs ofdepartmentand customers.
- Proficientto learnnew technology(software and equipment) quickly, troubleshoot and repair equipment failures ina timelyfashion.
- Self-motivated, reliable, attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and customer service.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education, Experience or Equivalent Combination:
- Bachelor’s degree in a health-care related field.
- Four years’ experience in healthcare simulation,operatingandmanagementthe broad variety oftechnology applied and used in simulationmethodology.
- Licensure/ Registration/ Certification:
- Certified healthcare Simulation OperationsSpecialist;EMT, EMT-P, LPN/RN, or similar medical related professional.
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- This is an entry level position with the expectation the individual will be supported from baseline.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- (60%) –Assists with the facilitation of simulation activities and programs.
- Assistwith planning, programing, tests, and running scenarios with faculty/educators.
- Runs simulation sessions for learners under the direction of the course directors.
- Assistswith procedural learning/testing sessions.
- Runs audiovisual and simulation manikin technology during scenarios.
- Assistswith simulation scenarios as a standardized patient family member, or other designated role tofacilitateachievement ofidentifiedscenario objectives.
- Creates realistic scenarios & setting
s throughpropsplacement and moulage.
- Prepares and manages required paperwork/participant materials before, during and after class.
- Assist with the Preventive Maintenance program for internal HP and external customers.
- Transportsequipment/supplies on & off site fortrainingsand simulations.
- (30%) –Facilitates the day-to-day operation of all equipment for the Clinical Simulation program.
- Assistwith the maintenance of routine and preventative maintenance of equipment.
- Conducts cleaning of simulation-based equipment toinsureproper operations.
- Assistwith the installation and implementation of new simulation / AV equipment, software, and hardware upgrades for computer and mannequin components as directed by manufacturer support.
- Maintains procedural kits to ensure standardized use to simulate manufacturer standards.
- Assistwith the maintenance of AV hardware and software systems to record simulated sessions withsubsequentediting and transfer into an archived format for analysis.
- Identifyprocedures and best practices to be implemented associated with simulation technology.
- Maintainsproficiencyin existing and emerging technologies and tools.
- (5%) –Provides instruction to staff, faculty, and participants
- Provides instruction to Clinical Simulation staff, faculty and participants on the use and care of simulation, clinical, and AV related equipment.
- Provides orientation to equipment and Center to participants, adjunct faculty, and visitors.
- (5%) –Other duties as assigned (5%)
- Expands the field through involvement with national, regional, and local simulation organizations.
- Demonstrates the use of simulation equipment to tour groups and/or visitors as directed.
- Assistin assorted projects and task with other operational and/or educationalstaff.
