Job summary

Lehigh Valley Health Network is seeking a Simulation Technician to provide technical support for simulation operations, including maintenance and repair of mannequins, software and hardware. You will operate simulators during pre-programmed scenarios, restock supplies, and manage the AV system for recording and archiving sessions.

The role involves coordinating the Standardized Patient program, providing training to faculty and staff, and assisting with special projects.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Outlook/Word/Excel/PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge of audio/video equipment and software for recording/editing.
  • Ability to learn new hardware and software quickly and independently.

These recognitions highlight LVHN's commitment to teamwork, compassion, and technology with an unrelenting focus on delivering the best health care possible every day.Whether you're considering your next career move or your first, you should consider Lehigh Valley Health Network. **Summary** Provides technical support for all simulation operations including maintenance and repair of computerized mannequins (software and hardware). **Job Duties*** Serves as simulator operator running pre-programmed scenarios with faculty facilitators ensuring all equipment is set up for course programs, which includes restocking/replenishing supplies and cleaning of equipment.* Understands the use and operation of various simulator technology.* Schedules and records simulation events using the AV system.* Provides daily/monthly/quarterly maintenance to maintain the condition of manikins, task trainers, and other simulation equipment.* Operates digital, audiovisual hardware, and software systems to record simulation sessions with subsequent editing and transfer in an archive format for analysis.* Schedules Standardized Patient (SP) Program, participate in recruitment, orientation, feedback sessions, and yearly updates of SP's.* Provides technical assistance, support, and training to faculty, staff, and standardized patients in use of simulation equipment.* Participates in technical training.* Assists with special projects or initiatives. **Minimum Qualifications*** High School Diploma/GED* 2 years technology or Healthcare related field* Proficiency in MS software applications including MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as internet and database applications.* Knowledge of audio/video equipment and software for recording, duplication, mixing, and editing.* Ability to learn new hardware and software quickly and independently.* Self-motivated and ability to work effectively in team environment.* American Heart Association Basic Life Support - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire* CHSE-Cert Healthcare Simulation Educator SSH - State of Pennsylvania within 1 Year **Preferred Qualifications*** Knowledge of patient simulation, technologies, and application.* Ability to assess, troubleshoot, and fix equipment failures in a timely fashion.* Knowledge of computer hardware equipment and software applications relevant to simulator functions. **Physical Demands** Lift over 50 lbs. Push/pull up to 140 lbs. Carry 80 lbs. short distances. Frequent standing/walking, squatting, kneeling, crawling, climbing and reaching overhead.
