Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a Simulation Platform Engineering Lead in Irving, TX to spearhead the design, development, and operation of a shared simulation platform for automation, robotics, and digital twin engineering.

You will translate platform direction into working software, own major components, and guide teams delivering cloud, on-premises, and GPU-enabled capabilities. Strong leadership and collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• 8+ years software engineering with leadership of complex platform projects.
• Strong backend and distributed systems experience.
• Experience with cloud, Kubernetes, and GPU workloads.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of core simulation platform and backend services.
• Define APIs, SDKs, and integration patterns for platform usage.
• Ensure observability, reliability, and security of simulation services.
• Mentor engineers and drive end-to-end delivery.
• Collaborate with multiple teams for system integration.
