Job summary

ICEYE in Valencia is seeking a Software Engineer, Simulation and Modeling to craft a scalable framework for satellites, emitters, signals and truth scoring. You will deliver end-to-end simulations used by engineers, analysts and customers to answer what-if questions about revisit times and geolocation accuracy.

You will collaborate with the lab, signal processing and ground segment teams to ensure reproducible runs, tests and documentation that enable repeatable RF scenario validation.

Qualifications

• Experience building a simulation or model of a physical system used by others
• Strong Python software engineering with testing and version control
• Numerical/scientific computing with NumPy/SciPy
• Knowledge of orbital mechanics and RF/propagation or signal processing
• Reproducible results via seeds, config management and data provenance
• Excellent written and spoken English

Responsibilities

• Model the constellation: orbit propagation, geometry, attitude and pointing, antenna beams and timing.
• Model the emitters and theatre with realistic patterns and duty cycles.
• Generate signals: propagation, link modelling and synthetic I/Q per satellite.
• Own the truth ledger and scoring system for detection and geolocation metrics.
• Coordinate with RF team to align simulation with playback hardware.
• Build a reproducible platform with versioned scenarios, CI and docs.
