Job summary

Arizona College of Nursing in the United States is seeking a Nursing Lab Specialist to support student academic success by preparing, assisting, and resetting lab sessions under the Nursing Lab Manager.

Responsibilities include coordinating instructional lab sessions with faculty, stocking lab supplies, coordinating equipment updates, and setting up simulation labs to enable effective learning. Operate the patient simulator and debrief system during simulations with safety protocols followed.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in a healthcare-related field or equivalent.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills.
  • Ability to develop effective working relationships with supervisors, co-workers, and students.

What You’ll Do:

Under general supervision from the Nursing Lab Manager, the Nursing Lab Specialist will play a vital role in supporting student academic success by preparing, assisting, and resetting lab sessions.

Responsibilities:

  • Work in conjunction with Nursing Lab Manager and faculty to coordinate instructional lab sessions.
  • Support the Nursing Lab Manager and faculty in purchasing, organizing, and re-stocking the nursing lab supplies.
  • Coordinate updates, service, and replacement of nursing lab equipment as required.
  • Set up simulation and skills labs to facilitate effective academic sessions.
  • Control the simulator (Hi-Fidelity Mannequin) for various clinical scenarios in accordance with the faculty specifications.
  • Operate the patient simulator, camera, and debrief system for the duration of a simulation while troubleshooting any equipment malfunctions.
  • Deliver a theatrical production of scenarios to students in accordance with the academic plan, acting as a simulated patient when required by the scenario.
  • Adhere to standards and safety protocols in the performance of assigned duties and responsibilities.

Must have:

  • Associate degree in a healthcare-related area of study or equivalent skills and healthcare experience.

Nice to have:

  • Familiarity with nursing or similar lab equipment.
