Job summary

Moravian University in Bethlehem, PA seeks a part-time Simulation Operations Technician to support simulation center operations, prepare and maintain manikins, and supervise students during open lab hours.

The role requires hands-on technical skills, ability to troubleshoot equipment, and collaboration with the Simulation Center Director; evening/weekend shifts may be required. A high school diploma is required; associate degree preferred, with AR/VR and AV equipment experience desirable.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate or higher educational degree preferred.
• Simulation laboratory and/or audiovisual equipment experience in a clinically based health care environment.
• Understanding of patient care simulation technologies and applications.
• Computer literacy (word-processing, spreadsheets and databases).
• Experience in AR/VR.
• Ability/willingness to quickly learn new technology.
• Time management and strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain current knowledge of simulation/lab equipment.
• Set up/take down equipment for simulation activities.
• Troubleshoot issues during simulations and communicate solutions.
• Perform maintenance and inventory updates; interface with manufacturers.
• Collaborate with faculty to ensure accuracy of scenario documents.
• Organize and restock skills labs and simulation supplies.
• Create and implement simulation lab schedules.
• Support best practices in all phases of simulation to achieve educational outcomes.
• Create realistic patient care environments; moulage and fluids.
• Coordinate with IT to set up/upgrade hardware and software.
• Pursue ongoing professional development in simulation technology.
• Maintain learner confidentiality.
• Perform other duties as directed.
