Job summary

Apple Inc. is seeking a Material Modeling and Simulation Engineer to elevate PCB material modeling quality and correlation between simulation and measurements.

You’ll collaborate with hardware teams to drive adoption of proven methodologies across products, including iPhone, Mac, and Vision Pro, ensuring robust design decisions under various environmental conditions. You’ll develop and validate simulation methodologies, generate material models for defined environmental conditions, and expand

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a relevant field.
• 3+ years of related work and academic experience.
• Hands-on experience with EM simulation vendor tools—such as HFSS or similar.
• Expertise in AI/ML methodologies—such as DNN, PINN, or gradient boosting.
• Good understanding of Electromagnetics.
• Experience with scripting languages.

Responsibilities

• Working closely with product teams, you’ll develop, validate, and refine simulation methodologies which enable correlation with measurements.
• Developing and validating methodologies is core to this role — you’ll generate PCB material models across user-defined environmental conditions, including temperature and humidity permutations.
• Through workshops, office hours, and direct collaboration, you’ll support product teams in adopting improved correlation methodologies.
• Expanding correlation methodology coverage across multiple EM simulation tools — including HFSS 3D Layout, CST, ADS, and Clarity — will be a key part of your impact.
• You’ll apply AI and ML techniques to EM Simulation Methodologies.
• Your work will contribute to formal PCB material validation processes that support sign-off for new material families and maintain the integrity of the PCB material database.
