Job summary
University of Kansas Medical Center is seeking a full-time clinical track nursing faculty to support prelicensure education with emphasis on simulation and hands-on laboratory instruction. The role includes teaching, evaluating competency, and developing courses and simulation scenarios.
Responsibilities include prebriefing/debriefing, real-time coaching, and ongoing curriculum improvement. Opportunities for faculty practice and service on committees may be available as part of the School of
Qualifications
- Graduate degree in Nursing required to ensure foundational knowledge and skill set.
- RN license from Kansas State Board of Nursing or eligibility to licensure in Kansas.
- Certification in simulation (CHSE) or nursing education (CNE) preferred.
- One year of clinical nursing practice experience required.
Responsibilities
- Teach in clinical skills and simulation lab settings including prebriefing, debriefing, and performance evaluation using competency rubrics.
- Provide real-time observation and coaching to support safe clinical practice and give narrative feedback.
- Contribute to course and curriculum development, simulation scenario design, implementation and evaluation.
- Participate in service activities and potential faculty practice to engage in clinical care.
