Job summary
University of Kansas Medical Center seeks a full-time Applied Practice Faculty in the School of Nursing to support clinical education for prelicensure programs. Qualifications
- Graduate nursing degree required.
- RN license in Kansas or eligibility for licensure.
- Three years of clinical practice experience.
- Certification in simulation (CHSE) or nursing education (CNE) preferred.
- Prior teaching in lab/clinical environments and experience with simulation-based education.
- Strong communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Teach clinical skills and simulation lab sessions, including prebriefing, debriefing, and performance evaluation using competency rubrics.
- Supervise students in direct patient care in hospital settings and coordinate patient care experiences with course outcomes.
- Contribute to curriculum development, simulation scenario design, and assessment methods.
- Participate in service activities and engage in KU School of Nursing Faculty Practice plan to support the school.
