Job summary

Simon is seeking a driver to operate a mixer truck delivering ready‑mix concrete to construction sites across the region. You will follow safety policies, load materials, and ensure on‑site safety and cleanliness during unloading.

The role requires a Class B CDL with Air Brakes and a clean driving record. Experience with concrete production or related field is preferred, along with reliable teamwork and communication on job sites.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of commercial driving experience preferred.
  • Experience with concrete production or related construction work preferred.
  • Ability to read, write and understand basic documents.
  • Maintains a clean driving record and complies with FMCSA rules.

Responsibilities

  • Operate a commercial truck with an auxiliary mixer to deliver ready-mix concrete.
  • Adhere to safety policies; support safety initiatives and ethics codes.
  • Load materials and maneuver truck for unloading at job sites.
  • Perform pre- and post-trip safety checks and document maintenance needs.

Job Summary

Operates a commercial truck equipped with auxiliary mixer to deliver ready-mix concrete to job sites.

Main Responsibilities
  • Embrace the Company's safety culture, actively support all safety initiatives, and adhere to defined accountabilities implemented by the Simon Steering and Continuous Improvement teams
  • Support, promote, and practice the Company core values, vision, and mission; follow code of ethics, workplace conduct, safety, and other established policies
  • Maneuver the truck under loading hopper to receive sand, gravel, cement, and water and starts mixer
  • Slumploads to specifications/requirements
  • Drive thetruck to location for unloading and ensures conditions at job site are safe
  • Interactprofessionally with internal and external customers
  • Assemblechutes and attaches to truck; operates controls on truck to release concrete down truck chute into wheelbarrow or other conveying container or directly into area to be poured with concrete
  • Performdaily a pre and post-trip safety check on equipment and truck to assure a safe vehicle; documents any maintenance that may be required
  • Clean thetruck after delivery to prevent concrete from hardening on mixer and on truck
  • May operate other equipment such as loaders, skid steers, fork lifts, and dump trucks
  • Assistwith the form/pour/strip of precast products
  • May spray surfaces of truck with protective/cleaning compound to prevent adhering of concrete
  • Assist work crews as required; assists with maintenance of plant and equipment
  • Maintain necessary documentation, timecards and other required paperwork
Education/Experience
  • Class B CDL with Air Brakes and clean driving history
Skills
  • At least 1 year of commercial driving experience preferred
  • Basic industrial truck maintenance experience preferred, but not required
  • Prior experience working with concrete production, construction, and/or related field preferred
  • Ability to maintain a clean driving record and compliance with applicable FMCSA CDL driver requirements
  • Ability to work with multiple types of individuals and interact professionally with internal and external customers
  • Ability to read and write, and understand basic documents
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions
  • Wears and maintains required PPE (personal protective equipment) to ensure safe performance of job responsibilities as required.
  • Regularly required to work from a seated position driving a commercial vehicle for long periods to safely operate and control the vehicle during transport duties.
  • Regularly required to climb in and out of vehicles and/or equipment to access the operator's area and perform essential job tasks.
  • Regularly required to use hands for tasks such as feeling, handling, and manipulating objects, including vehicle components, securing hoses, chains, and couplings; as well as writing and operating a keyboard or mobile device.
  • Regularly required to communicate (talk and hear) to exchange essential information, receive instructions, and ensure safe and effective work coordination.
  • Regularly works in changing environmental conditions (such as outdoor weather, dust, or airborne particles) due to the nature of operational work sites.
  • Regularly exposed to fuel, oil, and other chemicals to complete tasks involving vehicle operation, inspection, and maintenance processes.
  • Regularly lifts and/or moves up to 50 pounds to handle materials, tools, and equipment essential job functions with or without assistance.
  • Frequently works in environments that may include loud noise, moving equipment, dust, or varying indoor/outdoor conditions depending on operational needs.
  • Frequently stands, walks, sits, reaches, and stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls to access work areas and complete required tasks.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and overtime; overnight travel may be required.
Compensation and Benefits

Compensation*: $25 - $28/hour DOE

*Estimated target starting compensation; actual compensation to be determined based on assessment of an individual's qualifications, education, and experience relevant to the role.

Benefits: All full-time hourly employees are eligible to participate in Simon benefits as defined in plan documents.
