Job summary

Simon, a Colas USA subsidiary, is seeking a Production Laborer to support safe plant operations, assist with startup and shutdown, maintain stockpiles, and ensure smooth material flow at our Wyoming site.

You will work with plant operators and other teams to complete daily tasks, perform routine equipment maintenance, monitor for blockages or irregularities, and adapt to varying conditions. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, and a valid driver’s license is also preferred.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Experience in asphalt production, aggregate crushing, or similar industrial environment preferred
  • Valid driver's license and ability to maintain a clean driving record preferred

Responsibilities

  • Embrace the Company's safety culture, actively support all safety initiatives, and adhere to defined accountabilities implemented by the Simon Steering and Continuous Improvement teams
  • Support, promote, and practice the Company core values, vision, and mission; follow code of ethics, workplace conduct, safety, and other established policies
  • Perform various types of physical labor to support plant production operations
  • Work collaboratively with plant operators, equipment operators, and other team members to complete daily tasks and meet production goals
  • Assist with daily plant startup, shutdown, and production tasks
  • Support cleaning, housekeeping, and routine upkeep of plant components and surrounding areas
  • Assist with the operation of plant production equipment, ensuring consistent and efficient material flow
  • Monitor material movement and watch for blockages, buildup, or irregularities at any point in the production system
  • Help maintain, organize, and manage material stockpiles, ensuring safe handling and proper material separation
  • Assist with minor maintenance and repair of plant equipment, machinery, and vehicles

Job Summary

Supports safe and production operations by performing physical labor, assisting with plant start up and shut down, supporting equipment operation and material flow, maintaining stockpiles and clean work areas, monitoring for material issues, and helping with minor equipment and vehicle maintenance.

  • Wears and maintains required PPE (personal protective equipment) to ensure safe performance of job responsibilities as required
  • Regularly uses hands to handle tools, equipment, and materials necessary for completing operational tasks safely and efficiently
  • Regularly communicate (talk and hear) to support safe coordination, instruction, and teamwork in the work environment
  • Regularly stands for extended periods and moves across various surfaces or terrain to access different work areas and complete assigned tasks
  • Regularly works in changing environmental conditions (such as outdoor weather, dust, or airborne particles) due to the nature of operational work sites
  • Regularly works near fuels, oils, and other common workplace chemicals associated with operating or supporting equipment and machinery
  • Frequently lifts and/or moves up to 50 pounds with or without assistance to handle materials, tools, equipment, or documents essential to the role
  • Frequently stands, walks, sits, reaches, and stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls to access work areas and complete required tasks
  • Frequently works in environments that may include loud noise, moving equipment, dust, or varying indoor/outdoor conditions depending on operational needs
  • Occasionally works at heights or near electrical hazards when tasks require elevated access or proximity to electrical components
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and overtime; overnight travel may be required
