Job Summary:

Assist in the tasks associated with asphalt paving operations.

Main Responsibilities:
  1. Embrace the Company’s safety culture, actively support all safety initiatives, and adhere to defined accountabilities implemented by the Safety Steering and Continuous Improvement teams.
  2. Support, promote, and practice the Company core values, vision, and mission; follow code of ethics, workplace conduct, safety, and other established policies.
  3. Safely operate vehicles, tools and equipment, including, but not limited to on-road vehicles, jack-hammers, air compressors, skid plate tampers, shovels, rakes, brooms, concrete finishing tools, and other hand tools.
  4. Move tools and materials.
  5. Assist with asphalt paving and related operations.
  6. Assist with minor equipment maintenance and cleaning of construction equipment.
  7. Maintain clean and organized working areas.
  8. Work closely with skilled laborers and craft workers to complete projects.
  9. Engage in multiple forms of physical labor necessary for completion of assigned construction projects.
Education:
  1. High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  2. Valid drivers’ license with ability to maintain a clean driving history required.
Skills:
  1. Previous experience in asphalt paving, and/or related field preferred.
  2. Previous experience with a bobcat preferred.
Physical Requirements:
  1. Wears and maintains personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by Company safety guidelines.
  2. Regularly required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with or without assistance.
  3. Regularly required to use hands to move and manipulate objects.
  4. Regularly required to communicate (talk and hear).
  5. Frequently required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  6. Standing/working on feet for long periods, and walking across uneven terrain.
  7. Frequent exposure to loud noise.
  8. Regularly exposed to all outdoor weather conditions, dust, and airborne particles.
  9. Regularly exposed to fuel, oil, and other chemicals.
  10. Required to work varying hours, including nights/weekends, and overnight travel may be required.
