Job summary

Griff Network in Fallsington, PA is seeking an experienced Silicone Release Liner Coater Operator to join the new GRC division. You will set up, operate, monitor, and maintain a roll-to-roll coating line producing silicone-coated release liner papers and films.

The ideal candidate has hands-on coating, laminating, printing, or roll-to-roll experience, strong mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement. On-site, full-time with opportunities for advancement.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
Experience operating coating, laminating, printing, converting, extrusion, or roll-to-roll equipment is strongly preferred.
Experience with silicone coating, release liner manufacturing, or related processes is highly preferred.
Experience with web handling systems (unwind/rewind, tension, alignment) is preferred.
Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to read machine controls and settings.
Experience handling silicone formulations and production chemicals is preferred.
Ability to identify and correct manufacturing issues while minimizing scrap and downtime.
Attention to detail and commitment to safety, quality, and documentation.

Responsibilities

Assist with equipment commissioning, startup, and process development during division launch.
Set up, operate, monitor, and safely shut down the silicone coating line per orders and specs.
Verify substrates, silicone materials, chemicals, cores, labels, and packaging per job.
Thread materials, adjust tension, alignment, coating, curing, and line speed for stability.
Prepare, measure, mix, and document silicone formulations and related materials.
Monitor coating weight, silicone coverage, curing, release properties, and product QC.
Complete production records, material usage, batch info, and quality checks.
Support changeovers and train production helpers during shifts.

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced, mechanically inclined, and dependable Silicone Release Liner
Coating Operator to join our new GRC division. The Operator will be responsible for setting up, operating, monitoring, and maintaining a roll-to-roll coating line used to manufacture silicone-coated
paper and film release liner products.

This position will monitor raw materials, silicone formulations, web tension, coating application, curing
conditions, line speed, rewinding, and finished product quality throughout each production run. The
The operator will review work orders, complete machine setups and changeovers, perform quality checks, document production results, troubleshoot operating issues, and support the daily activities of production helpers assigned to the line.

As part of a new division and equipment launch, the Silicone Release Liner Coater Operator may also participate in equipment commissioning, production trials, startup training, process development,
and the creation of standard operating procedures.

The ideal candidate has previous coating, printing, laminating, converting, or roll-to-roll machine operation experience. The individual must demonstrate strong mechanical aptitude, attention to
detail, and a commitment to safety, quality, productivity, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Participate in equipment commissioning, machine startup, production trials, operator training,
and process development activities during the launch of the new GRC division.
Set up, operate, monitor, adjust, and safely shut down the silicone coating line according to
work orders, product specifications, production schedules, and established operating procedures.
Review each work order and verify that the correct paper or film substrate, silicone materials, chemicals, cores, labels, packaging materials, and production specifications are available before starting the job.
Thread materials through the coating line and adjust unwind and rewind equipment, web
tension, alignment, coating application, curing conditions, line speed, and other operating controls to maintain stable production.
Prepare, measure, mix, handle, and document silicone formulations and other approved
production materials according to established formulas, instructions, and chemical safety
requirements.
Monitor coating weight, silicone coverage, curing performance, release properties, web
appearance, roll quality, and other product characteristics throughout each production run.
Perform required in-process inspections, collect product samples, document test results, and communicate quality concerns to the Quality Department and production leadership.
Complete product changeovers by cleaning coating components, preparing material rolls, changing cores, adjusting machine settings, removing residual materials, and preparing the line for the next scheduled job.
Identify and troubleshoot mechanical, coating, curing, material, web handling, and finished
product quality issues while minimizing scrap, downtime, and production delays.
Accurately complete production records, material usage documentation, batch information, quality checks, scrap records, downtime reports, finished roll identification, and shift
communication while supporting production helpers and maintaining a clean and safe work area.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
Previous experience operating coating, laminating, printing, converting, extrusion, or other roll-to-roll manufacturing equipment is strongly preferred.
Experience with silicone coating, release liner manufacturing, adhesive coating, paper coating, film coating, or a related production process is highly preferred.
Experience working with web handling systems, including unwind and rewind equipment, roll changes, web tension, alignment, splicing, and material tracking, is preferred.
Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand machine controls, equipment
settings, production measurements, operating instructions, and mechanical adjustments.
Experience measuring, mixing, handling, or documenting silicone formulations, coatings,
adhesives, inks, solvents, or other industrial production chemicals is preferred.
Ability to identify and correct equipment, material, coating, curing, web handling, or finished product quality issues in a manufacturing environment.
Strong attention to detail with a demonstrated commitment to product quality, accurate documentation, material traceability, and compliance with production specifications.
Good communication, organization, basic math, measurement, and computer skills, with the ability to work effectively with Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Materials teams.
Dependable attendance and the ability to work safely and effectively during equipment startup, production trials, training, process changes, and regular manufacturing operations.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to operate controls and handle tools and materials, reach, bend, stoop, climb, and communicate effectively with team members.

The employee must be able to load and unload materials, position rolls and cores, assist with machine setup and changeovers, and work safely around moving production equipment. The position requires the ability to regularly lift up to 50 pounds and push, pull, or move materials weighing up to 100 pounds, with or without assistance.

The employee must be able to work for extended periods in a fast-paced manufacturing environment that may include noise, heat, production chemicals, and moving machinery. The employee must follow all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment.
