Job summary

Cirrus Logic in Austin, TX, is seeking a hands-on engineer to join the Mixed IC Validation team. You will contribute to pre-silicon emulation and post-silicon validation of high-performance mixed-signal audio ICs, collaborating with IC Design, Systems, and Applications engineers to ensure products meet performance goals.

You will develop tests, leverage data sheets, build automated scripts in Python, and use lab equipment to test and debug silicon and evaluation boards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field, completed or expected by the start date.
• Experience with programming or scripting in MATLAB, LabVIEW, Python, C, or similar language.
• Exposure to electrical engineering fundamentals through coursework or projects.
• Interest in hands-on debugging and learning how silicon, boards, software, and test equipment work together.
• Effective problem-solving, attention to detail, and strong written and verbal communication.
• Ability to work collaboratively across engineering teams and own assigned work.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute tests on the lab bench during pre-silicon and post-silicon product phases.
• Use validation plans, datasheets, and requirements to evaluate functionality and performance.
• Build or enhance automated test scripts and regression test suites using Python.
• Operate oscilloscopes, signal generators, and lab equipment to measure device behavior.
• Collaborate with IC Design, Systems, and Applications engineers to understand use cases and solve problems.
• Debug issues involving silicon, evaluation boards, software, and hardware tools.
• Analyze test results, identify failures, and communicate findings with tools like Spotfire.
• Document test methods, results, and conclusions for the engineering team.
