Job summary

Cirrus Logic in Austin, TX, is seeking a hands-on engineer to join our Mixed IC Validation team. You will participate in pre-silicon emulation, post-silicon validation, and collaborate with IC Design, Systems, and Applications to ensure product performance.

You will develop tests, build regression scripts in Python, and use oscilloscopes and lab equipment to understand device behavior. The role emphasizes learning from experienced engineers and owning your work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree completed or expected by the start date.
• Programming or scripting experience in MATLAB, LabVIEW, Python, C or a similar language.
• Exposure to electrical engineering fundamentals through coursework or labs.
• Interest in hands-on debugging and how silicon, boards, software, and test equipment work together.
• Effective problem-solving, attention to detail, written and verbal communication.
• Ability to collaborate across engineering teams and take ownership.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute tests on the lab bench during pre-silicon and post-silicon phases.
• Learn to use validation plans, datasheets, and product requirements to evaluate functionality.
• Build or enhance automated test scripts and regression test suites using Python.
• Work with oscilloscopes, signal generators, and other lab equipment to measure device behavior.
• Partner with IC Design, Systems, and Applications engineers to understand use cases.
• Help debug issues involving silicon, evaluation boards, software, and hardware tools.
• Analyze test results, identify failures, and communicate findings using Spotfire.
• Document test methods, results, and conclusions clearly for the team.
