Job summary

Apple Inc. invites a senior level design engineer to drive and lead technical engagements between Apple and silicon and IP suppliers on groundbreaking technologies.

You will oversee silicon development phases, including micro-architecture, pre- and post-silicon activities, and productization for high-volume manufacturing. We seek individuals with extensive experience across digital, analog and memory tech, characterization, validation, and statistical analysis.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering or related field with significant experience in IC design and verification.
• Experience with front end/back end digital tool suites including place and route, synthesis, and design verification.
• Knowledge of digital, analog and memory tech product development for high volume manufacture is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead hardware and software verification, validation, and qualification activities with internal teams and suppliers, ensuring on-schedule delivery.
• Drive technical exchanges between Apple and silicon/IP suppliers across Architecture, Design Methodology, Hardware Design, Software Design, Product and Test, and Reliability Engineering.
• Distill critical data from internal/external partners into actionable information for decision makers.

Description

Apple has an extraordinary opportunity for a senior level design engineer to drive and lead technical engagements between Apple and silicon and IP suppliers working on groundbreaking technologies. We seek individuals with significant experience with all phases of silicon development spanning micro-architecture specification, pre-silicon activities (e.g. simulation, emulation and verification), post-silicon activities (e.g. bring-up, validation, characterization and qualification), and implementations. You will also have knowledge of digital, analog and memory technology product development and productization tasks required for high volume manufacturing, including characterization, validation, qualification, and statistical analysis.

Responsibilities

• Be a member of a team that drives technical exchanges and direction with appropriate supplier teams such as Architecture, Design Methodology, Hardware Design, Software Design and Implementation, Product and Test, and Reliability Engineering.
• Lead hardware and software verification, validation, and qualification activities between Apple internal teams and suppliers, and be responsible to oversee these various joint efforts and ensure that they complete on schedule.
• Filter and distill critical data from both internal and external technical and business partners into relevant information targeted to the audience needed to make data driven decisions.

Minimum Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering or related field + 20 years relevant experience.
• Proven experience in integrated circuit design and design automation tools.
• SOC Implementation Skills. Hands on experience with the front end and back end digital tool suites, i.e. place and route, synthesis and design verification.

Preferred Qualifications

• Deep knowledge of EDA tools and approaches for managing both the design complexity and large technical teams.
• Knowledge of EDA tools and approaches for managing both the design complexity and large technical teams.
• Strong communication and program management skills are required.
• Comfortable with dynamic schedule driven development, crisis management, and directing multi-functional debug efforts.
• Excellent verbal and written social skills.
