Intel Corporation in Santa Clara is seeking a Silicon Photonics Test engineer to validate PICs, EICs, and optical subsystems, and to develop automation for measurement systems such as VNAs, LCAs, AWGs, and high-speed oscilloscopes.

The role requires collaboration across HW, FW, packaging, NPI, and manufacturing test, with a focus on data-driven validation reporting and cross-functional problem solving. Hybrid work model in the US is supported.

Qualifications

Minimum: a degree in Electrical Engineering or STEM with several years of hands-on testing.
Experience with photonics devices, RFICs, or optical subsystems is essential.
Strong programming skills for instrument control and data processing.

Responsibilities

Develop and own comprehensive validation for PICs, EICs, optical subsystems, and reference modules.
Automate tests and data collection using Python or similar tools.
Characterize laser, modulator, detector, and RF driver performance across 100G/lane and 200G/lane PAM4.
Collaborate with HW, FW, packaging, NPI, and manufacturing test teams to drive issues to resolution.
Generate detailed validation reports and communicate findings to leadership.
