Job description

Machine Operator Floater Production: $15/hr. with a $1.00 shift differential for 2nd shift and $2.00 for 3rd shift.
1st shift: 6:42am - 3:12pm
2nd shift: 2:42pm - 11:12pm
3rd shift: 10:42pm - 7:12am

POSITION SUMMARY: This position involves performing power-assisted assembly operations on LINING machines, monitoring production runs and orders through molding machines, inspecting for quality, and maintaining a clean work area during Assembly, Main Molding, and Polishing.

FUNCTIONS: Uses instruments such as calipers, air hoses, and picks (used for clearing jams). Operates power-assisted machinery to assemble components like caps, lining, and spouts. Visually inspects parts and assemblies for defects, segregates defective items for rework or scrap, and ensures all scrap is properly marked and disposed of. Completed boxes are dated, initialed, and returned to Quality Control for testing. Responsible for changing lining rolls when empty or when job orders change.

Responsibilities Include:

• Attending up to five presses based on production schedules and requirements.
• Checking molded products hourly for defects.
• Grinding runners and inspecting cappers for runners.
• Cleaning tracks, bowls, conveyors, and upright conveyors as needed.
• Performing quality checks and inspecting Hygrade products for defects.
• Completing labels, placing them on boxes, and ensuring rejected and accepted products are separated.
• Operating and monitoring grinders and presses to meet specifications, schedules, and deadlines.
• Reporting issues or defects to Team Leaders or Supervisors for correction and resolution.
• Maintaining a tidy and safe work environment by keeping walkways clear and performing housekeeping duties such as sweeping and trash removal.
