Job summary

Butler America Aerospace, LLC. is seeking a technically skilled technician in Arlington, TX to fabricate interconnecting cables and harnesses per engineering drawings.

You will troubleshoot laboratory infrastructure, crimp and assemble connector contacts to aircraft standards, and solder to J-STD guidelines. You will read wiring diagrams and mechanical drawings, work with ARINC 429, MIL-STD-1553, RS422, RS232 and Ethernet interfaces, and install fiberoptic cabling for reflective memory hardware.

Qualifications

• Assoc. degree in engineering or equivalent preferred.
• Military aircraft systems maintenance experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform fabricating interconnecting cables and harnesses per engineering drawings.
• Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair test bench and lab infrastructure equipment.
• Crimp and assemble connector contacts and cable assemblies to aircraft standards.
• Solder per J-STD requirements.
• Read and interpret aircraft wiring diagrams and mechanical drawings.
• Work with ARINC 429, MIL-STD-1553, RS422/RS232, Ethernet, IEEE-488 data interfaces.
• Install fiberoptic cabling for memory hardware.
• Operate hand tools and shop equipment safely.

Job description

Skills Required:

• Fabricating interconnecting cables and harnesses based on engineering drawings.
• Performing troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of test bench and lab infrastructure equipment.
• Must have the ability to crimp and assemble connector contacts and cable assemblies to aircraft standards.
• Must have the ability to solder to the J-STD.
• Must be able to read and understand aircraft level wiring diagrams.
• Must be able to read and understand mechanical drawings and diagrams for metal fabrication and assemblies.
• Familiar with the use of test equipment, trouble shooting and repair of wiring, and isolation .
• Experience wiring serial data interfaces including ARINC 429, MIL-STD-1553, RS422, RS232, Ethernet, IEEE-488.
• Experience installing fiberoptic cabling for reflective memory hardware.
• Ability to properly use in a safe manner hand tools and shop equipment (Powered and Unpowered – Hand drills, wire crimpers, wire strippers and soldering tools).
• Industry: Technical 5 years minimum
• Good communication skills both oral and written.
• Work in a team environment

Physical

• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work in confined areas for extended periods of time.
• Familiarity of ESD and FOD practices.

Education:

• Associate Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience preferred
• Military experience in related aircraft/systems maintenance and support is a plus

Other:

• Must have the ability to attain a clearance, if needed.
