Job summary

A leading engineering services firm in Fort Worth, TX is seeking a SIL Engineering Tech to handle cable assembly and troubleshooting tasks. Candidates should have strong skills in wiring diagrams and test equipment. This full-time position requires at least 5 years of technical experience and an Associate Degree in Engineering or equivalent. The role also requires physical strength and good communication skills, with a salary range of $30.00/hr to $45.00/hr.

  • Performing troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of test bench and lab infrastructure equipment.

Job Title: SIL Engineering Tech

Onsite Requirements:

  • Crimping & Cable Assembly to Aircraft Standards
  • Soldering to J-STD Specifications
  • Reading & Interpreting Wiring Diagrams and Mechanical Drawings

Job Description:

  • Fabricating interconnecting cables and harnesses based on engineering drawings.
  • Performing troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of test bench and lab infrastructure equipment.

Skills Required:

  • Must have the ability to crimp and assemble connector contacts and cable assemblies to aircraft standards.
  • Must have the ability to solder to the J-STD.
  • Must be able to read and understand aircraft level wiring diagrams.
  • Must be able to read and understand mechanical drawings and diagrams for metal fabrication and assemblies.
  • Familiar with the use of test equipment, trouble shooting and repair of wiring, and isolation.
  • Experience wiring serial data interfaces including ARINC 429, MIL-STD-1553, RS422, RS232, Ethernet, IEEE-488.
  • Experience installing fiberoptic cabling for reflective memory hardware.
  • Ability to properly use in a safe manner hand tools and shop equipment (Powered and Unpowered - Hand drills, wire crimpers, wire strippers and soldering tools).
  • Physical strength - ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work in confined areas for extended periods of time.
  • Familiarity of ESD and FOD practices.

Education:

  • Associate Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience preferred

Experience:

  • Industry: Technical 5 years minimum
  • Military experience in related aircraft/systems maintenance and support is a plus
  • Must have the ability to attain a clearance, if needed.
  • Good communication skills both oral and written.
  • Must be a team player
