The City of Wilmington, NC is seeking a Signs & Markings Technician I to install, repair, and maintain traffic signs, pavement markings and delineation devices. You will operate maintenance equipment, review work orders, and coordinate tasks while prioritizing work zone safety and public assistance.

Qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED and 1 year of related experience, plus the ability to obtain a Work Zone Traffic Control Flagger Certification within 90 days of hire and a valid

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and 1 year of relevant experience in construction, traffic signs, pavement marking, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain NCDOT-approved Work Zone Traffic Control Flagger Certification within 90 days of hire.
• Valid Driver’s License

Responsabilités

• Install, repair, and maintain City passive traffic control devices including signs, pavement markings and delineation devices.
• Set up work zones with appropriate signs and cones to ensure safe traffic flow.
• Assist with public relations by guiding the public and directing citizens to proper department or agency.
