Job summary

Erickson Senior Living is seeking an experienced Sous Chef to lead culinary operations at Riderwood Village in Silver Spring, MD. You will manage staff, ensure timely resident meals, and uphold food safety and quality standards in a state-of-the-art kitchen.

The role includes supervising dining services, coordinating with the culinary team, and contributing to Signature Dining Programs with à la minute cooking and chef-inspired creations. Weekend availability is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years full-service experience.
• Minimum of 6 months supervisory experience.
• Must be able to work some weekends and holidays.
• Be able to lift and/or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work in extreme temperatures, including hot kitchen to refrigerators and freezers.

Responsibilities

• Supervises the scheduling, training, and discipline of all culinary and utility staff.
• Manages daily kitchen production and food preparation for resident meals.
• Directs the preparation and service of all menu items, ensuring recipes and safety standards are followed.
• Oversees cleanliness and sanitation of dining rooms, kitchen, storage areas, and loading dock.
