Job summary

Independent Software in Fort Meade, MD seeks a Signals Analyst Level 1 to support mission-critical national security operations by analyzing RF signals, identifying structures, parameters, and behavior to determine signal characteristics.

You will work with a team of analysts and engineers to process, evaluate, and interpret signals data, contributing to actionable intelligence while supporting COMINT, ELINT, FISINT, and PROFORMA domains.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, Physical Science, or a related technical discipline with 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Associate’s degree with 4 years relevant experience.
  • High school diploma or GED with 6 years relevant experience.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze RF signals to identify signal structure, parameters, and behavior.
  • Apply signals analysis techniques across COMINT, ELINT, FISINT, and/or PROFORMA domains.
  • Process and interpret signals data to support mission objectives.
  • Identify patterns, anomalies, and characteristics within signal datasets.
  • Support development of analytical products and reporting.
  • Collaborate with analysts, engineers, and mission partners to support operational requirements.

Signals Analyst, Level 1, Fort Meade, MD – Full Time (Mid Level)

At Independent Software, as a Signals Analyst Level 1, you will support mission-critical national security operations by analyzing RF signals and identifying key characteristics to determine signal structure, parameters, and behavior. In this role, you will apply your expertise in signals analysis to support intelligence efforts across a variety of domains. You will work with a team of analysts and engineers to process, evaluate, and interpret signals data, contributing to the development of actionable intelligence. This position supports a broad range of mission areas focused on improving, protecting, and defending national security interests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze RF signals to identify signal structure, parameters, and behavior
  • Apply signals analysis techniques across COMINT, ELINT, FISINT, and/or PROFORMA domains
  • Process and interpret signals data to support mission objectives
  • Identify patterns, anomalies, and characteristics within signal datasets
  • Support development of analytical products and reporting
  • Collaborate with analysts, engineers, and mission partners to support operational requirements
  • Contribute to signal modeling and characterization efforts
  • Maintain awareness of evolving signals analysis techniques and mission needs
Required Skills And Qualifications
  • Experience in signals analysis, including COMINT, ELINT, FISINT, and/or PROFORMA
  • Understanding of RF signals and signal characteristics
  • Ability to analyze and interpret technical data related to signal behavior
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    Education And Experience
    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, Physical Science, or a related technical discipline and two (2) years of relevant experience; OR
    • Associate’s degree in a related discipline and four (4) years of relevant experience; OR
    • High school diploma or GED and six (6) years of relevant experience
    • Relevant experience may include signals analysis (COMINT, ELINT, FISINT, PROFORMA), or design and engineering of aerospace, communications, electronic, or industrial systems
    • Relevant military training and programs may be considered, including but not limited to:
      • Navy ELINT Analyst (9141)
      • Air Force ELINT Analyst (1N2A)
      • Intermediate or Advanced Signals Analysis training (451/461/452)
      • Military COMINT Signals Analysis Program (MCSAP)
      • Military ELINT Signals Analysis Program (MESAP)
      • Military OpELINT Signals Analysis Program (MOSAP)
    • Clearance Requirement: Must possess an active TS SCI with appropriate Polygraph to be considered for this role
