Job summary

FASTSIGNS of West Metro, MN seeks a Sign Production Specialist to follow layouts, place vinyl or full-color graphics on substrates, and prepare surfaces for application. You will weed vinyl, operate printers and plotters, and perform quality checks to ensure high standards.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years in sign production, a high school diploma, and the ability to lift 50+ pounds and stand for long periods while meeting deadlines. Training opportunities and competitive pay accompany this role.

Responsibilities

• Follow a layout to place vinyl or graphics on substrates.
• Prepare substrates, including cutting, painting, laminating and cleaning.
• Weed excess vinyl and operate printers/plotters.
• Perform quality assurance and proofing for errors.
• Finish pieces with laminating/mounting and report inventory.

A Successful FASTSIGNS Sign Production Specialist Will

• Follow a layout to place computer-cut vinyl or full-color graphic image(s) on a predetermined substrate or medium
• Prepare substrates for vinyl application to include cutting, painting, laminating, cleaning, etc
• Weed excess vinyl from computer-cut images. Weeding techniques vary with size, type of vinyl, and complexity of images
• Operate and maintain printers and plotters
• Perform quality assurance measures pre- and post-production by accurately reading and interpreting a Work Order and then proofing for errors or unacceptable standards
• Perform finishing operations such as laminating and/or mounting of printed pieces
• Report inventory levels and stock to be reordered.
• Clean and maintain storage areas

Ideal Qualifications For FASTSIGNS Sign Production Specialist

• 1-2 years of experience in sign production preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to stand for long periods of time (4 hours or more)
• Ability to lift 50 or more pounds
• Flexibility to lean over a waist-high table and use back and forth hand motion to apply vinyl letters and graphics to a substrate
• Ability to work under pressure to output high volume, high-quality work
• Ability to use light power equipment
