Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to evaluate and treat a wide range of rehabilitative needs, under the guidance of a physical therapist. You will implement plans of care and serve as a clinical resource for staff and students within a team-focused inpatient/outpatient setting.

The role involves educating patients and families, documenting in the EMR, and collaborating with physicians on progress; opportunities for ongoing CE and program compliance are included.

Qualifications

• BLS within 30 days – American Heart Association (AHA)
• Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) in Illinois
• Board eligibility after program completion

Responsibilities

• Educates patients, family, caregivers, students, and other health care providers using relevant teaching methods.
• Follow the therapist's plan of care and adjust treatment based on patient response and available evidence after communicating with the evaluating therapist.
• Produce documentation per Clinical Documentation Policy (CTSCP67).
• Complete annual education for DNV Hip and Knee Replacement Program requirements if applicable.
• Follow treatment plan of care established by PT and provide therapeutic exercise, gait/balance training, ultrasound.
• Administer electrical stimulation and aquatic therapy; document daily in EMR and coordinate with PT on interventions.
• Communicate patient progress and recommendations to referring provider

Board Eligible to complete board exam
